Instructions: Now that your group has decided on an issue, you must demonstrate that there is a problem. You will turn in this research sheet completed with two articles attached that you showed that there is a problem

I. There is a problem in society today. That problem is:
The problem is that companies in the food industry are genetically modifying foods, both plants and animals, and are not required to put this labeling on packaging. This violates the consumer's right to information, which is dangerous because some chemicals and ingredients in genetically modified foods are harmful. The issue is that, even though genetically modified foods are potentially dangerous, they are also far cheaper than organic foods.

II. Facts that demonstrate that there is a problem are:
(Two articles and bibliography must be attached)
The creation of genetically modified foods is very contraversial. While some embrace the idea, others call these man-made foods "Frankenfoods". The selling of genetically modified foods, or GM foods, hurts trade with other nations since the U.S. can provide for itself given that GM foods can be designed to grow fast, resist diseases, and with-stand drought. GM foods contain multiple different chemicals that can be potentially harmful. Companies, however, are not required to put labeling on the GM foods that they produce. This violates a customer's right to knowledge, and is, in a sense, lying to customers. GM foods have the potential to produce enough food to feed those starving and solve hunger, but at what cost?
